About a while ago, I and a close friend of mine were applying to a job at a hypergrowth startup. I was fixated on a different job at the time, not realizing how much of a rocketship that startup was at the time, and got dinged for perceived lack of interest. My friend also applied shortly after I did, and I coached him through the process.
